Technical Assistance:
The inspector and the Provider discussed annual training hours for staff.

Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 01/10/2023 between the hours of approximately 9:15 am and 10:15 am. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 13 month to 4 years (26 points), with 2 caregivers supervising. Children were observed having positive interactions with staff, working with various age-appropriate materials, bathroom breaks, washing hands, and preparing to go outside. Circle time was also observed: children reviewed the date, days of the week, weather of the day, spelled their names and last names, while they singed songs and reviewed numbers (counting).
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 4 staff/household members records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles@doe.virginia.gov.

Plan of Correction: I will contact the parents of Child #2 and request an updated physical examination report.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-210-A
Description: Based on record review, one out of four caregivers did not obtain a minimum of sixteen clock hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities.
Evidence:

Plan of Correction: Moving forward, we will ensure that all caregivers complete the required training annually.
