Per ? 22.1-289.037 B of the Code of Virginia, failure to obtain background checks pursuant to ?? 22.1-289.035 and 22.1-289.036 shall be grounds for denial, revocation, or termination of a license.

A renewal inspection was conducted on January10, 2024 approximately 11:30 am to 1:45 pm. There were 8 children and 2 staff present during the inspection. Observation of staff supervision of children during the visit. Children were observed resting and individual play. A review of 2 children records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on interview and a review of one staff member's record the provider did not obtain criminal history check prior to 1st day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff member 1 has been employed at the home since November 20, 2023, but do not have documentation of results of a criminal history check.
2. During the Inspection, Licensing assisted provider with creating an background checks account and entering information to schedule an criminal history check appointment for Staff Member 1.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-200-A Description: Based on review of five staff records, the provider did not have documentation that staff received orientation training by the end of their first week of assuming job responsibilities.
