Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 1/29/2024. There were 5 children present with the provider and 1 staff supervising. The point total was 12. The children were observed watching a show on tv and getting ready for lunch. A total of 5 child records, 1 staff record, and 1 household member records were reviewed. The inspection started at 11:15 am and concluded at 12:25 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-800-B
Description: Based on document review and staff interview the center did not ensure they shall review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed. The provider shall document in writing each review and update to the emergency plan.

Evidence: The most recent documented review was 12/13/2022.

Plan of Correction: Plan has been reviewed and documented as of 1/29/2024

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-350-E
Description: Based on observation and staff interview the center did not ensure the hot water at taps available to children shall be maintained within a range of 105?F to 120?F.

Evidence: The licensing inspector using a temperature gauge confirmed that the hot water registered 128.6?F at the sink in the bathroom where the children wash their hands.

Plan of Correction: The hot water heater will be turned down.
