An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on January 29, 2024 from 2pm to approximately 3pm. There were 2 children present totaling 6 points and the provider and household member. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records, to provider?s record and household staff records. Children were observed waking up from their name, restroom break, free play and snack. No medication is administered and there are no allergies at this time of children in the center. There is no transportation given. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with the provider at the exit interview. The inspection concluded on 1/29/24.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-G Description: Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the provider did not ensure that fireplaces and associated chimneys shall be inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed. Documentation of the inspection and cleaning shall be maintained by the provider.
Evidence:
1. The last fireplace and chimney inspection is dated 1/26/2023.
2. Staff #1 is aware the inspection is required annually, and the inspection has not been scheduled.Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: The provider will schedule for the fireplace and chimney to be inspected as soon as possible.
