54.1 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed the requirement for a caregiver to have medication administration training (MAT) prior to giving a prescription medication. Currently no caregiver has MAT to give an emergency medication that is in the home and belongs to a child in care.
2. Inspector has provided resources for obtaining MAT, completing a food allergy action plan, and other health resources.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at 10:06am. Observed 8 children totaling 21 points with 2 caregivers. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed playing with toys, finger painting and eating lunch. The caregivers were actively engaged with the children and activities. The daycare areas of the home were found to be clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Areas of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed were found with multiple violations being repetitive and systemic.
