Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. The children were transitioning from playing in the backyard and going inside. They were observed lined up and taking their shoes off as they entered the home. They took turns washing hands and using the bathroom. Staff were assisting them as needed. They took seats at two tables for lunch. They sat quietly and were accustomed to the daily routine. Lunch today was mac and cheese, fresh broccoli, cantaloupe and milk to drink. There ample amounts for second servings which some of the children requested. After lunch they washed their hands and began getting ready for nap time. The crib room was observed and the cots were neatly stacked and sufficient in number for the number of children in attendance today. No food allergies and no medication needs identified today. The programming space was supplied with toys, books, games and equipment that were determined age and stage appropriate for the children in care. A total of 6 children's files, both staff and 2 household member files were reviewed and found complete. Discussion on lunch preparation and the importance of maintaining staff based on points. This inspection occurred between 11:15am and 12:50pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
