Comments:
An announced Initial inspection was conducted today from9:45am to 11:00 am. There are no children in care. The provider's, staff member's, and one household member's records were reviewed and found complete. The home was supplied with ample age appropriate toys and programming equipment . Adequate space determined for the capacity of 7 children. The physical space, emergency supplies, and documentation for emergency drills and attendance were reviewed. Violations found today during this inspection were reviewed with provider and an appropriate corrective action was provided. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-760-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the required emergency supplies were not in the family day home.
Evidence:
1. The first aid kit was missing one triangular bandage. The first aid kit had one, but not more than one.
2. Caregiver #1 confirmed that the first aid kit did not contain more than one triangular bandage.

Plan of Correction: The family day home will purchase an additional triangular bandage for the first aid kit.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-800-A
Description: Based on documentation review and interview, the family day home did not have a written emergency preparedness and response plan.
Evidence:
1.The family day home did not have documentation of a written emergency preparedness and response plan.
2. Caregiver #1 confirmed that a written emergency preparedness and response plan was not written at the time of the inspection.

Plan of Correction: The family day home will complete a written emergency preparedness and response plan.
