An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 10:45am and 11:50am. There were 11 children present with the Provider and 2 assistant for a total of 29 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing freely, washing hands and eating lunch (peanut butter sandwich, banana slices, orange slices and milk) . A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-880 Description: Based on observation, the family day homes did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food
Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Evidence: The USDA requires for children to be served a fruit and vegetable with lunch. The children were observed being served banana slices and mandarin orange slices. A vegetable was not served.Plan of Correction: We serve two fruit because the children don't like the vegetables. We will start trying to serve.
