The Inspector reviewed six children?s records and four staff records. The Inspector observed staff and children?s interactions throughout the inspection. Children were observed during free play, nap, and bottle feeding. First aid kits and emergency preparedness plans were observed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with owner at the exit interview.

Violations:

Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the provider did not ensure that bottles not be heated in a microwave oven.
Evidence:
1. During the time of the inspection, Staff #1 put Child #1?s bottle in the microwave to warm up the child?s bottle. Staff #1 then gave the bottle to Child #1.
2. Staff #1 confirmed heating Child #1?s bottle in the microwave to warm up the child?s milk.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: Staff #1 was informed of the standard and will no longer heat up bottles in the microwave oven.
