Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/28/2024 from 11:35:00 to 12:40. The provider had 11 children in care with two caregivers. A total of 32 points Observed eating lunch and getting ready for nap. The provider has lots of room for the children and lots of supplies and interest areas for play.
Todays lunch was broccoli, nuggets, sweet potato fries, noodles and bananas.

Standard #: 22.1-289.036-B-2
Description: Based on review of household members background checks, the provider failed to get the criminal records check for 1 household member.
Evidence: A member of the household turned 18 in December and the provider failed to get a criminal records check conducted.

Plan of Correction: I will schedule the fingerprints today.

Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-4
Description: Based on the review of the household member records, the provider failed to get a sworn disclosure statement for one household member.
Evidence: Household member 2 is missing a sworn disclosure statement, the household member turned 18 in December.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure the sworn disclosure form is signed,

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-700-C
Description: Based on review of the medication on site, the provider failed to return the expired medication after 14 days or dispose of the medication.
Evidence:
The provider has an expired EpiPen for a child in care. The EpiPen has not been picked up by the parents.

Plan of Correction: I will return the medication to the parent today,

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-C
Description: Based on the review of emergency drill records, the provider failed to keep a written record of drills conducted.
Evidence: Based on interview with the provider and review of the emergency drill records, the provider failed to record drills done from September 2023 to February 2024.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure I remember to write the emergency drills on the records sheet when I conduct them.
