Discussed with Staff the supervision guidelines.
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Center Supervisor-Ms. Stephanne. This visit took place in the afternoon there were 52 children with 5 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving to SACC, having snack, arts & craft-making friendship bracelets, reading,and playing color boxing. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log,medications and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-F Description: Based on observation of the children, staff failed to provide sight and supervision when staff allowed 5 students to leave the classroom without a staff member. Evidence: Upon arrival, 5 children were observed leaving out of the classroom without an adult. Plan of Correction: Center Supervisor stated that the children were going to the gym where a staff member was present. Center supervisor stated that they use the walkie talkie to communicate with staff to let them know the children are on the way.
