The playground could not be inspected today due to the heavy rain.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 42 children in care with a total of 8 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. In addition, 3 co-op parents were on site today and fully engaged with each class. The children were observed making pinecone ornaments, playing with trains, making gingerbread cookies, attending music class, and enjoying indoor gross motor skills games. This inspection was completed between approximately 9:30 am and 10:45 am. Thank you for meeting with me today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record was not complete. Evidence: Child record #3 does not include the mother's work phone number. Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked for the missing information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observations, it was determined that two cleaning products were not locked. Evidence: One container of table cleaning wipes was stored on the top shelf of an unlocked cabinet. One bottle of dish detergent was stored in a cabinet beneath the sink. The lock on the cabinet door is broken. Plan of Correction: All cleaning products will be moved to the locking cabinet and that cabinet will be kept locked.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on a review of children's medication authorizations, it was determined that one authorization was completed but the medication was not on site. Evidence: The allergy action plan for child #2 indicates that an over-the-counter allergy medication is to be administered after the child receives the required prescription medication. However, the over-the-counter medication was not on site. Plan of Correction: The parent did not bring the medication. The parent will be asked to bring it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on a review of children's medications, it was determined that one medication authorization has expired. Evidence: The authorization for one child's long-term emergency medication expired on 10/23/15. Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked to bring a new authorization form.
