An unannounced inspection for license renewal was conducted today. Ratios for all eleven groups were found in compliance. The preschool age children were eating lunch, playing with blocks, table toys, listening to stories, and participating in movement activities. The infants and toddlers were resting. Medication procedures were reviewed and found in order. Staff with current MAT, first aid and CPR training were on site. Staff records were reviewed and found complete. The violation cited at the last inspection has been corrected. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on record review and staff interview, it was found that the center has not had a fire inspection in the past year, and their fire permit expired June 30, 2015. Plan of Correction: Higher Horizons paid for the fire permit on 6/21/2015. Documentation was provided to the Licensing Specialist to show the delay is due to an FCFD work backlog. Higher Horizons facility manager will continue to follow up directly with FCFD to check status of permit.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, it was found that the door on the play stove in the Candlewick room was coming off its hinge and hanging loose. Plan of Correction: The door hinge was repaired on 12/11/2015.
