The Licensing inspector reviewed over standard 22 VAC 40-185-340 and 22 VAC 40-185-320. On March 16, 2016 Licensing inspector inspected the playground area and discussed with the Program Director about potential concerns with the playground composites outside.
An unannounced inspection was conducted on March 16, 2016 from approximately 12:00pm-3:30pm. At the time of entrance there were 68 children and 9 staff members present with children. There was an additional staff member on site for administrative and support purposes. Children and staff were observed during tummy time, nap time, playing outside and reading books. There were no medications on site during this inspection. The licensing inspector reviewed four children's records, 3 staff records, 5 injury reports and medication. The outside playground was inspected. The exit interview was conducted on March 16, 2016 with the Program Director.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: During the inspection on March 16, 2016, the licensing inspector observed peeling paint inside the bathroom in the School Age area and on the metal fence gate between the Toddler/Preschool and School Age children playgrounds. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure the diapering surface is nonabsorbent surface. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on March 16, 2016, Licensing Inspector observed a tear on the corner of the on diapering pad in the Toddler's room which caused the surface to be absorbent.
