Technical Assistance:
VA DSS has a new web site for parents and providers which will announce any changes to standards, background checks, technical assistance and resources for trainings. The web site is childcareva.com.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Observed infant care and feeding, outside playground time for toddlers and preschoolers, transition to hand washing and preparation for lunch. Lunch served today was Mac and Cheese, green beans, fruit and milk. All emergency preparation for trainings,, supplies and drills is current. Two new staff records were reviewed and complete as well as three children's records. No medication was reported to be on-site today. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, 2 bottles of cleaners were not stored in a locked cabinet. Evidence: Two spray bottles of cleaners were observed on a high shelf in the Pre-K classroom and not in a locked cabinet.

Plan of Correction: Bottles were immediately moved to a cabinet with a lock during the inspection.
