Consultation was given regarding the standards related to diapering and the storage of required items such as but not limited to; 1) A nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing shall be used for children younger than three years, this surface shall be a changing table or countertop designated for changing; 2) Disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. 3) A leakproof covered receptacle for soiled linens.
An unannounced inspection was conducted in the center today. At the time of entrance there were 2 staff present with 8 preschool age children. The sample size consisted of 3 children's records and 1 staff record. Children were observed eating lunch, reading dancing and preparing for rest time. No medications are being administered. The playground was not inspected due to inclement weather. The inspection began at approximately 10:45 a.m. and ended at 12:35 p.m.. Areas of non-compliance were noted on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-B Description: Based on documentation and staff interviews, the licensee has not obtained annual approval from the health department. Evidence: During the inspection on September 21, 2016, the most recent health inspection was dated 4-1-2015. Plan of Correction: The director will contact them and have them come out for the inspection.
