Comments:
The inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 9:30 until 11:30. There were nine children in care when the inspection began and one more child entered care at approximately 10:00 a.m. Four staff were present at all times. Children were observed getting their hands cleaned for snack, having a a snack which met USDA requirements, being read to, playing, having a diaper changed, and watching a children's video in which involved dancing and jumping. Four children's records and three staff records were reviewed . The center does not administer medications. Violations from the last inspection had been corrected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-J
Description: Based on record review, injury prevention procedures had not been updated annually. Evidence: 1. The center had not updated their injury prevention procedures.

Plan of Correction: The director stated she would update the injury prevention procedures.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain all the required information for the children's records. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed three children's records. One of three records (record #1) did not contain information about allergies or chronic conditions, and the father's work place and phone number.

Plan of Correction: The director will get the information from the parents and will review all records to make sure they are complete.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-310-F
Description: Based on observation, the center does not have a separate playground area for infants and toddlers that has at least 25 sq. feet of unpaved surface per infant/toddler. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed one mat on the playground but it is not large enough to meet the requirement.

Plan of Correction: The director will purchase mats to take on the playground for the infants and toddlers.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-370-5
Description: Based on observation, the center did not provide an infant not playing on the floor a change in play space at least every 30 minutes or more often as determined by the individual's needs. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed infant #1 in a exercycle for longer than 30 minutes during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: The director will retrain staff about changing play areas every 30 minutes.
