22VAC40-185 PHYSICAL PLANT.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Observed 22 children directly supervised by 2 staff members. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. A sample of 3 children's records and 3 posted staff records were reviewed. The physical plant, emergencies supplies and procedures were also reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: eating lunch from home, playing a trivia game and in small groups doing games and free play activities. Hand washing routines and parent pick up were also observed. Areas of non compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted. Inspection conducted 11:50 am- 12:45 pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based upon record review, required documentation was incomplete or missing. Evidence: Child A's record was missing a copy of their physical and immunization forms. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place. Evidence: The metal storage cabinet on the wall in the classroom behind the snack tables had bleach wipes and bleach spray in storage, but was unable to be locked and therefore accessible to children in care. Plan of Correction: SACC program is already in the process of replacing the cabinet and aware it doesn't lock.
