Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on November 8, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. On this date, there were sixty-nine (69) children in the care of thirteen (13) staff members in five classrooms. There were five (5) children's records and four (4) staff records reviewed and updated. Areas observed were educational center activities, story time, music, hand washing/bathroom and diapering procedures, transition, outside play, lunch, infant feeding, and nap. All interactions between staff and the children were appropriate and the children seemed comfortable with the daily routine. Children have been completing seasonal activities and artwork is displayed throughout the center. There are a wide variety of age/stage materials for the children in care. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards, and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9256.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-E Description: The center failed to comply with the terms of their license regarding capacity. Evidence: Based on observation and discussion with the director, it was confirmed 69 children were present on 11/08/2016. The license issued is for a total capacity of 58 children. Plan of Correction: Today was Election Day and part time children attended that was not on the schedule, which allowed us to be over in capacity. We will reduce part-time enrollment and ensure our capacity does not exceed 58 children at one time.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
