One violation was cited in the area of special care provisions and emergencies.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on review of medication at the facility, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that when an authorization for medication expires, the parent shall be notified that the medication needs to be picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization. Evidence: There was a Pro-air asthma inhaler stored with the medication at the facility that had an authorization that had expired on 9/20/16. This medication had not been returned to the parent.

Plan of Correction: Medication will be returned to the parent until a new authorization can be obtained.
