- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/30/17 at 7:20 a. m. and concluded at 10:00 a. m. The inspector met with the Program Director and some but not all Child Day Center standards were reviewed. There were 62 school-age children present with eight staff. The children were observed having centers at tables which included, Art, Games, and Puzzles. The children had a snack and later divided into groups. Five children records were reviewed. Nine staff records were reviewed. One classroom observation conducted. Conversations were held with several staff and children. No children on medications today. The last evacuation drill was documented on 1/24/17.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on review of children records some required information was not on file. Evidence: On 1/30/17, there was no immunization record on file for child #1. Plan of Correction: Will be received today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on review of children records some required information was not on file. Evidence: On 1/30/17, there was no physical exam on file for child #1. Plan of Correction: Will be received today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review of the current evacuation log the center did not practice all required drills. Evidence: On 1/30/17, there were no evacuation drills documented for September and December 2016. Drills are required monthly. Plan of Correction: Fire drills will be done by the 15th of each month.
