An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, 2/21/17. Upon arrival to the center one classroom was outside playing on the playground. The other two classrooms were busy with center play, circle time, reading books, counting, singing days of weeks and months of the year. Each class went outside throughout the day. Lunch, hand washing, table sanitizing was also observed. A review of children's records was conducted at the center and a review of staff records will be conducted a the centers main office. A violation notice was completed regarding the one standard cited. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. Inspection began: 10:15 am ended 1:00 pm, approximately.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation during the renewal inspection the center failed to maintain play equipment and a porch in safe condition. Evidence: 1. The back blue wall on the playground equipment is broken on the top and the window pane area is cracked. The front blue wall is cracked on the bottom left side. 2. The small playground has a white porch attached to the building. The lattice around this porch is broken and the paint is peeling. Plan of Correction: A work order will be placed requesting that these areas be repaired, replaced and painted. Children will be monitored when in these areas.
