During inspection medications were checked: 2 of 3 were due to expire at the end of the month ( in 1 day ) Inspector also discussed staffing: While ratios were maintained during inspection it required movement of staff and pulling of the director to the classroom. Inspector was informed that 2 staff were out and they are in the process of hiring more staff.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from approximately 9:40am-12:00pm. There were 41 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing outside, and in circle time. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a sufficient supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in Medical Administration Training, CPR and First Aid, as well as Daily Health Observation training. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of a sample of children's records all required information was not maintained. Evidence: during inspection Child # 1 was missing phone numbers for guardians. Child #3 was missing physical and children 2, 3, 4, and 5 were missing addresses for emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: Child #1 guardian was on staff and provided information . Information has been requested form other parents.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on review of a sample of staff records, all required documentation was not properly maintained. Evidence : During inspection staff 1 and 2 did not have an up to date Criminal History Background Check on file. Plan of Correction: It must have recently expired, I will send out another
