22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:45 a.m . to 11:40 a.m. At the time of entrance the following adult to child ratios were observed: 17 children, ages 3 to 5 years old with 2 staff 19 children, ages 3 to 5, with 2 staff + I staff person assisting children in both groups The records sample size consisted of 4 children?s records. Staff records are housed off site and will be reviewed at a separate inspection. Children were observed conducting a fire drill at the start of the inspection. They were observed returning inside, participating in free choice learning centers, having circle time, playing outdoors being read to from children's literature and eating lunch which consisted of baked chicken spinach, pears, macaroni and cheese, rolls and milk. Hand washing, sanitizing and restroom procedures were also observed. Medication administration was not observed. However, one medication stored on site for emergency use was reviewed with regard to labeling, storage, written authorization and required documentation.
