- Technical Assistance:
During inspection inspector discussed medication authorization and maintaining medication beyond the 10 day limit for parent authorization.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from approximately 1:10pm-3:20pm. There were 61children (infant -5years ) directly supervised by 9 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed during rest time and having snack. There was a sufficient supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in CPR/ First Aid Medication Administration Training (MAT) as well as Daily Health Observation ( DHO) training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of a sample of children's records, all required information was not maintained. Evidence: during inspection Child#1 and Child #2 were missing parent's work phone number. Plan of Correction: I will talk with parents today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on inspection, cleaning materials were not stored in a locked place. Evidence: During inspection cleaning agents were stored in an unlocked cabinet under the sink in the Pre-K room. Plan of Correction: Assistant director corrected on site once notified by inspector
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-580-B Description: Based on inspection all vehicles used for transportation on site did not meet safety standards set by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Evidence: During inspection, 1 vehicle on site had an expired safety inspection sticker displayed. Plan of Correction: Currently were are not using it. We are communicating with management to possibly have it removed.
