22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 3:00 to 5:00pm. Ratios for all six rooms were found in compliance. The children were eating snack, playing with playdough, engaged in counting and sorting games, painting, coloring, and having some free play time. Medication procedures were reviewed, and staff with current MAT, first aid and CPR training were on site. Records were also reviewed. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on observation, it was found that in room #1, one bottle was not labeled with the child's name. Plan of Correction: The bottle was labeled at the time of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-B Description: Based on record review, there was no documentation of the results of a criminal record check for staff person #1, who has been working since 2015. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector reviewed the criminal record form for staff person #1 which said "record being processed". The words "ok to work" were written on the form and signed by someone in the personnel office. Plan of Correction: Documentation of criminal record results is kept in the Human Resources Office.
