Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced annual subsidy health and safety inspection conducted today, April 27, 2017. The on-site inspection was conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. There were 86 children in the care of 17 staff. Enrollment for the program was 171 children. There were seven staff members' records and seven children's records reviewed. The exception to compliance was noted on the violation notice and the risk rating for the violation was noted on the supplemental page. The subsidy requirements were discussed with the director and the emergency plans were reviewed. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at (540) 280-0742.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-006-B Description: Based on review of the posted list of allergies, review of children's records, and verification from the director, the center failed to obtain a written allergy care plan from a physician for two children with diagnosed food allergies. Evidence: 1. The records for Child #6 and for Child #7 did not contain written allergy care plans from a physician. Both children had food allergies that had been diagnosed by physician. The medication paperwork on file did not contain instructions on what steps to be taken in the event of an allergic reaction. 2. The director verified that both children had diagnosed food allergies and that no action plan was on file. Plan of Correction: The director will contact the parents of the children immediately and obtain a written care plan from a physician.
