Discussed opening 2 additional classrooms to be used to care for children in September and what steps need to be taken in order to have the license modified to reflect these changes.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated today at 10:40am. The physical plant, 4 children's files, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 127 children under the supervision of 17 staff. The Childcare Program had 20 children under the supervision of 3 teachers and the Pre-school Program had 107 children being supervised by 14 teachers. During the inspection, children were observed participating in circle time, making Mother's Day crafts, coloring, practicing writing letters and eating lunch. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. The children bring in their lunches from home each day that they are in care. Staff files are not reviewed on site, but during an annual administrative file review. The two Shelter-in-Place drills, which are required annually, have already been completed.
