The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection June 1, 2017 from approximately 2:50pm to 5:00pm. There were a total of 61 children being supervised by nine staff members including the director during the inspection. The children were observed participating in a variety of activities. Children were observed playing video games, playing outside, working on computers, coloring, creating with play-doh, building with legos, watching a movie, participating in free choice and eating snack. Snack consisted of meatballs with milk or juice. The Middle School program was closed for the day and was not inspected. All other areas including KinderQuest and Cougar Quest along with the playgrounds, bathrooms and hallways were inspected. The facility was equipped with toys and supplies that were available to the children.
The following information was reviewed during the inspection: injury reports, daily attendance, emergency drill logs, emergency supplies, emergency preparedness plan, parent agreements, and staff training information. Last documented health inspection occurred on 10/25/16 and the last documented fire inspection occurred on 11/17/16.
During the inspection, five children's and five staff records were reviewed. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact Licensing Inspector, Lynn Powers at (804) 662-9790.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of five children's records, one record did not contain the required information. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed the record for Child #1 (enrollment date 07/22/16) contained one of the two required emergency contacts and their information. Each child's record is required to contain name, physical address, and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. Plan of Correction: We will contact the family and obtain an additional emergency contact. We will also review this information in the future to ensure we have all of the required information.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
