- Technical Assistance:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection, at which play groups, outdoor time, activities, pre-lunch time, lunch time, post lunch time, and rest time were observed. Children were observed; and staff and children files and other documentation were reviewed. Twenty-six (26) children were found to be in care ages 5 months-8 years, with 5 staff and administrative staff. Previous violations were reviewed, and had been corrected. Please contact me if you need further assistance. Thank you for your cooperation. This inspection began at 9:15am and concluded at 1:15pm.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on review of staff files the facility failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to TB testing. Evidence: The file for staff #2 did not have a renewed TB test/screening as required. The document on file was dated 5/15/15, which was due to be renewed by 5/15/17. TB tests/screenings are to be renewed every 2 years. Plan of Correction: The staff person will obtain a renewed test or screening as soon as possible and this will be placed within the file for future review. Staff files will continue to be reviewed for compliance with standards and items renewed as required.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observations of the rest rooms used by the children the facility failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to items need within the rest room for hand washing. Evidence: There were no paper towels or drying system in either of the 2 rest rooms used by the children, in the preschool/schooler building, as required. Plan of Correction: Paper towels were placed in the rest rooms once the inspector informed the staff that there were none. Staff will be reminded to do a morning check of the areas used by the children to ensure compliance is being met.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
