Current Inspector: Victoria E Dawson (540) 309-2674

Inspection Date: July 25, 2017

Complaint Related: Yes

Areas Reviewed:

A complaint was received in the Division of Licensing office on July 24, 2017 regarding a concern of the lack of space available for the children the week prior (week of July 17). There was also concern of the staff activities while supervising and lack of structured activities for the children. An unannounced complaint inspection was made at the school summer camp site on July 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The public school staff were interviewed to determine the space that was available during the week of July 17. The areas that were available and used by the children were observed and measured. The site director provided the inspector with a schedule of daily activities for the entire week. The site director (YMCA staff person) was interviewed. The program was observed for adequate supervision. There were 28 children present with two staff. The children were in various small groups playing with toys and games. The inspector was at the program until 3:00 pm. Based on observations, interviews, measurements, and review of schedules, the complaint is determined to be not valid.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
