An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the assistant director beginning at 12:45 PM and ending at 3:50 PM. There were fifty-three children, ages ranging from three months to thirteen years, were in care during the inspection. Children were also observed napping or resting quietly on the cots. Ten children?s records and five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Three medications were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were observed and in compliance. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed and in compliance. The most recent fire inspection was documented as August 2, 2016. The most recent health inspection was documented as February 8, 2017. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation the staff did not keep hazardous substances in a locked area not accessible to the children. Evidence: There was soap, soap/water solution, disinfectant spray, and bleach/water solution stored in a unlocked lower cabinet accessible to children in the infant A classroom. Plan of Correction: The cabinet was locked during the inspection. The center will ensure that all cabinets are locked after use.
