The following inspection took place between the hours of 10 am through 3 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the Imagination Learning Center located in Chantilly, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 98 children with 19 classroom staff; good ratios in all 9 rooms. A total of 10 children?s files and 5 staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: infant feeding, tummy time, diaper changing, napping, lunch, coloring, shapes, story time, snack, art, box houses, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation and interview, an area inside the center was not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (08/29/2017), within the "Koala" room, a window located on the far end of the classroom shows a noticeable small crack in its middle. 2. The Assistant Director stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection) that she believes this crack has been there for at least two years; not growing any bigger in size. The cracks origin still remains undetermined. Plan of Correction: The crack will be covered to maintain inaccessibility. In the long run, the glass may need to be replace if it should grow in size.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-C Description: Based on observation, not all of the diaper cream products were labeled with each child's name. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (08/29/2017), a tube of diaper cream observed within a cabinet kept in the Hippo room was not labeled with the name of Child #3. 2. All other products appeared to be labeled. Plan of Correction: Corrected on the date of inspection.
