Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted Thursday, September 14, 2017 from approximately 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. The licensing inspector was assisted during the inspection by members of management. During the inspection, compliance with some standards could not be determined since the center is not yet in operation. The program will utilize the cafeteria, gym and playground area as areas to provide care for children and these areas were inspected. Toys, educational materials, games, arts and crafts materials and other items for the children to use have been purchased. During the inspection five staff records were reviewed and found to be in compliance. Transportation will be provided and vehicles and transportation documents were reviewed. Medication will be administered per the request of parents and staff with current Medication Administration Training will be present when children are in care. Emergency supplies including the first aid kit, flashlight, and battery operated radio were checked. During the inspection the following information was reviewed: sign in/out sheets, injury forms, medication authorizations, emergency preparedness plan, and the liability insurance. Though, some standards of care could not be determined during the initial study, the program is in substantial compliance with the standards that could be determined, and will be recommended for a six-month conditional license at this time. During the conditional period, the center will be subject to unannounced licensing inspections, with the first inspection taking place within the first sixty days of licensure. If you have any questions, please contact Licensing Inspector, Lynn Powers at (804) 662-9790.
