Discussed Nap room Supervision.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:50am-10:30am. There were 74 (toddlers-6yrs.) directly supervised by staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, children? records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and emergency supplies. Children were observed participating in group activities, baking, and eating snack. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on review of TB Screenings for staff, the center has not obtained a current TB Screening for one staff that was completed within 12 months prior to being employed. Evidence: 1. Staff 3 started at the end of September and had submitted a TB Screening that was conducted in August of 2016. Plan of Correction: We will request the employee obtain a new TB Screening over the long weekend.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review of children's records, it was determined one child's listed food allergy did not contain a plan of action from the parent. Evidence: 1. Child 1 had a listed food allergy and the parent did not document what should be done in the event the child comes into contact with the allergen. Plan of Correction: We will request information from the parent.
Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review, the center has not obtained a search of child abuse and neglect registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the last five years for one staff. Evidence: 1. Staff 2 has listed living in DC in the last 5 years but there is not a search record for Washington DC in the file. Plan of Correction: We will put in the request to DC for this employee.
