22VAC40-185 PHYSICAL PLANT.
A complaint investigation was initiated today regarding concerns about the sanitation, ratios and air quality/temperature at the center. A self-reported inspection took place on 11/14 regarding concerns about staff inappropriate behavior guidance. Violations were cited around the cleanliness of the facility, and retaliation however the ratio and temperature were not valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that areas and equipment in the center were not maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1.Floors in 2's/Toddler classroom & Preschool classroom were dirty with black marks, stains and dirt residue 2.Trash can in the 2's classroom was found extremely dirty, with food stains all over. 3. The Diaper changing pad in the 2's classroom was found with Dirt/black stains along the bottom door frame. Plan of Correction: The trash can and the bottom door frame of the diaper changing table storage were corrected during inspection. We have spoken to the cleaning crew that visits the center each night to ensure that they are paying careful attention to the floors and following the schedule for buffing and waxing the floors in the classroom. We will also encourage our families to wipe their feet on the rugs in the vestibule to help keep the floors clean particularly on rainy days like today.
