A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on December 20, 2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The following ratios were observed:
Infants : 10 children with three staff
Toddlers: seven children with two staff
2's : sixteen children with two staff
3's : eight children with one staff
4's : fourteen children with two staff
School age I - 12 children with one staff
School age 3 - thirteen children with one staff
School age children were observed dancing, making slime, building ramps with blocks and cars, and coloring. Preschool children were preparing for nap and completing lunch. Children were searching for various textures in the classroom using a magnifying glass. Toddlers were making crazy quilts with paper towels and cut out patterns.
Lunch: Chicken and rice, peas, applesauce and milk
Out of twenty staff employed at this location, twenty staff are currently certified in first aid and CPR, five staff are currently certified in medication administration, and fourteen staff are currently certified in Daily Health Observation.
Eight staff records and eight children's records were inspected.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
