Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-12:20pm. There were 106 children directly supervised by 20 staff. The physical plant, 16 staff records, 10 children?s records, 7 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were playing outdoors, reading books individually, and having books read aloud to them in large groups. The kindergarten class was observed working on writing skills. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Kara Wright at kara,wright@dss.virginia.gov or 703-537-6241.
