A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 1/19/18 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on 1/19/18. There were 38 children present; 10 school-agers were present as the public schools were closed in the area due to road conditions. Five children's records and six staff records were reviewed. No medications were at the center. The inspector arrived at the center at 11:45 am and departed at 3:30 pm. The children were observed after lunch, during nap, and during a movie (school-agers). The baby house was observed and infant activities were observed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E Description: Based on record review and interview with the director, the center failed to ensure that one staff who had been employed more than 30 days had completed first aid and CPR certification training. Evidence: 1. Staff 3 who was hired 11/28/17 had not completed first aid or CPR training. The director verified that this staff person had not completed the training. Plan of Correction: The director called and found a class for tomorrow in which the staff will attend.
