Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 2:15pm and 3:50pm. I observed 33 children directly supervised by 2 staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed arriving to the program, doing homework, listening to a story, doing crafts, playing with play-doh, and participating in group play in the gym area. Staff were actively engaged with the children and assisting them with tasks as needed. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The cafeteria was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and adequately supplied with equipment and supplies. Medication management was in compliance. Required staff training documents were on-site. Emergency preparedness supplies in order. Required documents posted. Record keeping was in compliance. Questions about this inspection may be directed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on review of nonmedical emergency supplies, the center did not have a working battery-operated radio. Evidence: The center has a battery-operated radio, but the radio did not have working batteries during the inspection. Plan of Correction: We'll buy new batteries tonight.
