Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Center Director. This visit took place in the afternoon between 11:30-1;45 there were 3 classrooms with a total of 78 children 11 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed making valentine art projects, having story-time, watching a video while in transition for lunch, and nap time. Lunch consisted of mac & cheese, carrots, bread and milk. Positive interactions were observed. A complete inspection of the phsyical plant, children records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the center, the following areas were found not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: Chipped/peeling paint and rust was found along the water fountains in two of the classrooms. Plan of Correction: Director stated that she will put in a work order to have it repainted.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, one electrical outlet was found without a protective cover. Evidence: In the school age classroom an outlet was found with a protective cover. Plan of Correction: Director corrected during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on a review of the medication and authorization forms, one long-term medication was found beyond the expiration date. Evidence: An epi-pen was found expired (12/17). Plan of Correction: Director notified the parent during this inspection to pick up the medication and to bring in a new one.
