Health and Safety inspection was conducted today from 9am through 11:00am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 10 children in care with three staff. Children present ranged in age from 2years to four years old. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including breakfast, story time, outside play, restroom routines, hand washing and circle time. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. The swipe card machine was in working order during the inspection.

Description: No based on record review and interview the center failed to ensure that within the first 90 days of employment all staff complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: 1 - The record for staff 2 does not contain documentation of completing the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. a. The documented date of hire for staff 2 is 6/20/2016 2 - Staff 1 confirmed that there was not documentation of the required training in the record of staff 2.

Plan of Correction: Center management will require all staff to complete the required training within the allotted time frames.

Description: Based on record review and interview the center failed to ensure that all staff providing care to children shall have within 30 days of the date of employment. Evidence: 1 -The record for staff 2 does not contain any documentation of CPR and First Aid training. 2 - Staff 1 and 2 confirmed that the documentation was not present in her file.

Plan of Correction: Going forward center management will ensure that documentation of all required training is present in each staff record within the required time frames.
