- Technical Assistance:
TA was given on sanitizing tables and medication administration.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. There were 8 children in care with 3 staff present. The children were observed napping, washing hands, having a snack, and getting off the bus after-school. Five staff and five children?s records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed had been corrected except for one. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-1 Description: Based on documentation and interview, the staff did not have current medication administration training and had administered medications. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed a record of Tylenol being administered on 3/9/2018 and there is no staff member who has current MAT training. 2. The inspector reviewed a record of medication #1 being administered in the month of March 12 times. Plan of Correction: Staff have tried to find a MAT trainer with no success; the director will continue to find a MAT trainer. The tylenol will be returned to the parents 3/14/18, the next day the child is expected to be in care.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J Description: Based on observation, the center did not keep all medications locked. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed medication #1 in an upper cabinet in the kitchen that was not locked and a bottle of liquid tylenol being stored in the refrigerator that was not locked. Plan of Correction: The staff locked the medications in the office in a cabinet during the inspection.
