An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 9:35 AM and ending at 12:15 PM. There were six children, ages four through five years old, in care during in the inspection. The children were observed painting and doing art work. The children were also observed eating lunch which consisted of mini beef ravioli, salad, mandarin oranges, and milk. Four children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Four staff records were reviewed. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 3/13/2018. The most recent shelter in place was documented as 2/21/2018. The most recent lockdown drill was documented as 2/21/2018. The most recent health inspection was documented as 2/28/2018. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 3/14/2018. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B Description: Based on a review of documentation, not all of the staff had documentation of completing the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: Staff A did not have documentation of completing the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care staff in their record. Plan of Correction: The staff completed the training but the documentation was not be able to be presented during the inspection. A copy of the certificate will be printed and placed in the staff record.
