Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 3/27/18 from 11:00am until 12:20pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of the tour there were 39 children in care with 6 staff present. Children were observed eating lunch, participating in story time and resting quietly during nap. Handwashing and toileting procedures were also observed. The emergency preparedness plan, documentation of emergency practice drills, children's incident reports and other center postings were reviewed. A follow-up visit was conducted on 4/6/18 from 10:30am until 11:15am to review records and first aid and emergency supplies. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 new staff records were reviewed. The remaining staff records were not accessible to the licensing inspector during the inspection. A licensing inspection was also conducted on these dates; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. One violation was found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and is identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-005-B
Description: Based on observation, the vendor did not maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: 1. In the toddler classroom, 5 of the 11 children in attendance were not signed in upon arrival. 2. In the 2 year old classroom, 2 of the 10 children in attendance were not signed in upon arrival.

Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: All staff have been reminded that although the children are clocked in out by their parents that contain dates and times the children were in the building and the staff also take attendance that it is a must that they also record the time and date manually in their attendance book that the children entered their classroom.
