- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included allergens.
An unannounced safety and health inspection was conducted today. There were 47 children present today in five classrooms. All rooms were within ratio. I observed children busy with springtime activities, playing outdoors, eating lunch and beginning naptime. This inspection, combined with the subsequent licensing standards renewal inspection, meets the requirements for the SSHI inspection. If you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-033-F Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, a staff member did not demonstrate awareness of the food allergies for children in care. Evidence: During today's inspection, the empty wrapper from a small package of pistachio nuts was observed in a staff member's; open book bag that was hanging at child height on a hook where it was accessible in a room with a child with a diagnosed nut allergy. Plan of Correction: Removed during inspection. The teacher will be retrained, and all staff reminded of the possibilities of serious allergy reactions.
