Consultation provided on transitions and the need to do thorough head counts/name-to-face counts to ensure that you have accounted for all of the children. Staff should communicate with one another to make sure all are aware of the number of children in care at any given time. When children enter the program after the completion of their clubs, please make sure all staff are capturing those children in their counts.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the director, who was present with two additional staff and 24 children initially and 33 children once the additional children arrived from the various clubs. At the beginning of the inspection, the staff and children were outside on the playground, they transitioned to hand washing and snack ( cinnamon toast crunch and milk). Eight children had medications on site, four staff files and seven children's files were reviewed today. There was one injury/accident the entire school year, which happened during the inspection today. Arrival time: 4:20 pm Departure time: 6: 05 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: , Based on observation, it was determined that children arriving into the program after clubs failed to wash their hands with soap and water or disposable wipes before eating their afternoon snack.
