Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 10 am through 1 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center located in Sterling, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 115 children with 15 staff; good ratios in all 8 rooms. A total of 9 children?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: center activities within their classroom, story time, art, large motor skills on the playground, bathroom breaks, hand washing, lunch, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on review, 1 of 4 medications reviewed indicated that one medication on site was not in compliance. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection, medication kept for Child #1 was actual prescribed for the child's parent and labeled with that parent's name on the outside of the original container. 2. This same medication had also expired at the end of February 2018.

Plan of Correction: The medication was returned today during pick-up. New medication prescribed for Child #1 was requested.
