The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at approximately 11:00 am until 2:30 pm to determine compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the director was present, assisted, and accompanied the licensing inspector throughout this inspection. Upon the inspector's arrival, the children in the early childhood program were transitioning from lunch, using the restrooms, preparing for nap and resting. The licensing inspector observed 12 children and 2 staff present in the designated classroom area. The inspector was informed that additional children participating in the program arrive at 3:10 pm, however, the maximum number of participants in the program is 20. The staff were observed by the inspector interacting with the children, providing age appropriate supervision, and assistance when needed. There were age appropriate toys and materials for the children observed throughout the classroom settings. The classroom, gymnasium, and designated areas for care were inspected by the licensing inspector. The required postings were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The following information was reviewed: attendance log, emergency supplies/maps, fire and shelter-in-place drills, liability insurance policy, and emergency preparedness plan. There were five children?s records and three staff 's records reviewed during this inspection. Currently, there is no medication being administered. However, the center has multiple staff on site with MAT, First Aid/CPR, and daily health observation certifications. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the licensee did not ensure that all required nonmedical emergency supplies were in each building used by children. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on May 10, 2018, there were no batteries for the battery operated radio. Plan of Correction: We will get the batteries and place them in the radio.
