An unannounced renewal visit was conducted with the Director. This visit took place in the morning between 9:30-1:00pm there were 6 classrooms observed with a total of 70 children with 15 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning circle time, going on a nature walk, learning about "things that grow", weather, shapes, numbers, colors, lunch and nap time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, liability insurance, medications and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, potentially hazardous substance such were stored in an area that was not inaccessible to children. Evidence: In the infant classroom, a bottle of white-out was found on the infant feeding table accessible to an infant. Plan of Correction: Staff immediately removed and Director reminded staff to use those items when children are not present.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on walk thru of physical plant, the diapering surface was ripped/torn and no longer non-absorbent. Evidence: The diaper changing pad used for diapering was longer non absorbent. Plan of Correction: Director replaced it during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on review of the infant bottles, bottles were found without the date. Evidence: 4 infant bottles were found without the date. Plan of Correction: Staff immediately labeled the bottles with the date. Director will remind staff to check upon immediate arrive to ensure proper labeling.
